Terms of Service

Last updated: April 18, 2026

Welcome to Hunch. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Hunch.

What Hunch is

Hunch is a forecasting app for private groups. You and the people you invite create markets about things your group cares about — sports, concerts, life events — and take positions at prices shown in cents (from 1 to 99), which represent implied probability, not currency. Hunch does not handle real money and does not hold any balance on your behalf. If your group settles in real life (e.g., over Venmo), that's between you and your friends. Hunch only surfaces who owes whom based on how markets resolved.

What Hunch is not

Hunch is not a gambling or real-money gaming service. Hunch does not hold, transfer, or process any money, tokens, or other items of value. Hunch does not facilitate or settle transactions between users. Prices shown in cents represent implied probability (a number from 1 to 99) and are not a currency or account balance. Any real-world settlement between users is a private matter between those users and occurs entirely outside of Hunch.

Hunch is intended for social forecasting and entertainment among members of private, invite-only groups. Hunch is not a securities exchange, a designated contract market (DCM), a swap execution facility (SEF), a commodity pool, or a bucket shop. Hunch is not regulated by the CFTC, SEC, or any state gaming authority because it does not engage in any activity that would require such regulation.

Don't:

Group context and private content

Everything you post in a group is visible to other group members. Don't post anything in a group you wouldn't want the members of that group to see. Groups are invite-only and we don't surface your group activity to anyone outside it — but we can't control what other group members do with what they see.

Market resolution

Markets in Hunch are resolved by the market creator (or another designated resolver) within the group. Hunch does not adjudicate disputes about whether a market resolved fairly — that's a group-level conversation. If a group systematically abuses resolution, individual users can leave; Hunch reserves the right to remove groups that repeatedly violate these terms.

User-generated content

Settlement and Venmo

Some users share a Venmo handle on their profile to make peer-to-peer settlement easier after a market resolves. Hunch does not process payments — we just surface the handle. Any actual money transfer happens on Venmo (or another service) between users directly, under those services' terms.

Termination
